1. Important Information and Who We Are

This privacy policy sets out how LEKA Global Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”), trading as Art Chinois, collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website at www.artchinois.com, purchase products from us (whether through our website, our Shopify store or our Etsy shop), or otherwise communicate with us.

This website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

LEKA Global Ltd is the controller and is responsible for your personal data.

2. The Types of Personal Data We Collect About You

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:

 Identity Data: first name, last name, username or similar identifier.

 Contact Data: billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone number.

 Financial Data: payment card details (processed via secure third-party gateways such as Stripe and PayPal; we do not store your full payment card details).

 Transaction Data: details about payments to and from you and details of the products you have purchased from us.

 Technical Data: internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our website.

 Usage Data: information about how you use our website and products.

 Marketing and Communications Data: your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.

We also collect, use and share aggregated data such as statistical or demographic data. Aggregated data is not personal data as it does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity.

 

3. How Is Your Personal Data Collected?

We use different methods to collect data from and about you, including through:

 Direct interactions: You may give us your personal data by placing an order through our website, our Shopify store or our Etsy shop, by subscribing to our newsletter, or by corresponding with us by email or otherwise.

 Automated technologies or interactions: As you interact with our website, we automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns.  Third parties: We may receive Technical Data from analytics providers (such as Google), from Shopify (which powers our online store), and from Etsy (through which we also sell our products).

 

4. How We Use Your Personal Data

Legal Basis

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

 Performance of a contract: Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you (for example, to process your order and deliver your products).

 Legitimate interests: Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests (for example, to prevent fraud and to improve our website and services).

 Legal obligation: Where we need to comply with a legal obligation (for example, tax reporting requirements).

 Consent: Where you have given your consent for a specific purpose (for example, subscribing to our marketing emails). You can withdraw your consent at any time.


Purposes for Which We Use Your Personal Data

We have set out below the ways we use your personal data, and the legal bases we rely on to do so.

To process and deliver your order: We use your Identity, Contact, Financial and Transaction Data. Our legal basis is performance of a contract with you.

To manage our relationship with you (including notifying you about changes to our terms or privacy policy): We use your Identity, Contact, and Marketing and Communications Data. Our legal basis is performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interests.

To administer and protect our business and our website: We use your Identity, Contact and Technical Data. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests and compliance with a legal obligation.

To send you marketing communications (where you have opted in): We use your Identity, Contact, Usage, and Marketing and Communications Data. Our legal basis is your consent and our legitimate interests.

To use data analytics to improve our website, products and customer experience: We use your Technical and Usage Data. Our legal basis is our legitimate interests.


Marketing

You will receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us or purchased products from us and you have not opted out of receiving that marketing.

We will get your express consent before we share your personal data with any third party for their own direct marketing purposes.

You can ask us to stop sending you marketing communications at any time by following the opt-out links within any marketing communication sent to you, or by contacting us at hello@artchinois.com.

 

5. Disclosures of Your Personal Data

We may share your personal data with the following categories of third parties for the purposes set out in section 4 above:

 E-commerce platform providers: Shopify powers our online store. Etsy provides the marketplace through which we also sell our products. Each platform processes your personal data in accordance with its own privacy policy.

 Payment processors: Stripe and PayPal process your payment information on our behalf.

 Logistics and delivery partners: We share your name, delivery address and contact details with our couriers, including Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, Yodel, FedEx and DHL, to deliver your orders. These partners act as data processors on our behalf.

 Analytics providers: Such as Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors use our website.

 Professional advisers: Including lawyers, auditors and insurers, where necessary.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

 

6. International Transfers

Some of our third-party service providers are based outside the United Kingdom. This means that your personal data may be transferred outside the UK.

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring that at least one of the following safeguards is implemented:

 We will only transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed by the UK to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data.

 Where we use certain service providers, we may use specific standard contractual terms approved for use in the UK which give the transferred personal data the same protection it has in the UK.

 

7. Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

 

8. Data Retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements.

By law we are required to keep basic information about our customers (including Contact, Identity, Financial and Transaction Data) for seven years after they cease being customers, for UK tax purposes.

In some circumstances you can ask us to delete your data: see section 9 below for further information.

In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

 

9. Your Legal Rights

Under data protection laws, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

 Right of access: The right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

 Right to rectification: The right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.

 Right to erasure: The right to request that we delete your personal data in certain circumstances.

 Right to restrict processing: The right to request that we suspend the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

 Right to object: The right to object to our processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest. You also have the absolute right to object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.

 Right to data portability: The right to request that we transfer your personal data to you or to a third party in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

 Right to withdraw consent: Where we are relying on consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent.

If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact us (see section 10 below). You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive.

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer if your request is particularly complex, in which case we will notify you and keep you updated.

You have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). However, we would appreciate the opportunity to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO, so please contact us in the first instance.

We keep our privacy policy under regular review. This version was last updated in March 2026.

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us.

This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications (including links to Shopify, Etsy, and our logistics partners’ tracking services). Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
